The present crashes with the past in Julianne Maclean's "A Fire Sparkling".
Fleeing from a brutal breakup, Gillian Gibbons visits her father and grandmother in Connecticut, but after a mysterious photograph is discovered of her beloved grandmother in the arms of a Nazi officer during World War II, instead of wallowing in heartache, Gillian becomes a historical detective to unravel the mysteries of her grandmother's life during the war.
Completely engrossing and highly suspenseful, Maclean beautifully weaves the past with the present. The story reads like a mystery novel that you cannot seem to put down, but bravery, courage, and the fight for what's right is at the heart of "A Fire Sparkling".
