Tall, redheaded Zee is not a princess, or what you would picture as a damsel. But then again, Gentry is not your typical knight in shining armor either.
In Bryn Greenwood's "The Reckless Oath We Made", Zee is a tough Kansas girl who is struggling to carve out a life for herself but is doing so by making one bad decision after another. But when Gentry enters her life and tells her he is her champion, she doesn't heed his words or pay him much attention either, despite the fact that he always seems to be lurking around. When Zee's sister is abducted, Gentry is there to help his lady, but they are about to embark on an adventure that will unknowingly set off a series of events that will change both their lives forever.
Told from alternating characters' perspectives, "The Reckless Oath We Made" is part crime story, part adventure, and mixed with an unconventional love story. Greenwood weaves together a truly remarkable story about honor and family: the one you're born into and the one you choose for yourself.
"The Reckless Oath We Made" is truly a unique story that was a pure joy to read. I cannot recommend it enough.
